Effective Mathematics Intervention Package plus Video Training

The Assessment

The assessment is mostly conducted verbally (with some element of recording) and therefore allows practitioners to ask questions, observe thinking and get a fuller picture of a child's mathematical ability.

It is divided into 7 main strands (Counting, ID & Understanding of Number, Language, Place Value, Algebra, Fractions, Decimals & Percentages and Calculation, Problem Solving & Reasoning) and allows you to very quickly establish at which level a child is operating in each one. It encourages note taking as you listen to and observe children's working out. It can be used throughout the primary age range and covers objectives right from F2 to Y6.

The Multi Strand Challenges

This digital download gives you all 256 of our ready made activities (samples below) in one place, covering the same 7 key strands of mathematics as the assessment.

Each strand includes activities ranging from Introductory level to Stage 6. These are broadly based on F2 up to Y6 objectives but all are adaptable for differing abilities.

Each activity has been carefully designed to increase confidence and understanding in number by focusing on seeing patterns, scaffolding with models and using games and challenges to engage children in their learning.

They can be used in class with larger groups or in an intervention setting. Teaching assistants in particular, benefit from the structure they provide.
